  • Graduated with 520 hrs from Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts (KCHA)

  • KCHA practitioner  (1987 – 1998)

  • Self-employed practitioner increasingly referred by PTs, Osteopathic Surgeons, Chiropractors, and other medical professionals. (1998 – present)

  • Successful treatment:  carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, plantar fasciitis, TMD, medial & lateral epicondylitis, sciatic pain syndrome, frozen shoulder, kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis, herniated disks, headache, back pain, whiplash, scar remediation, and other chronic & non-chronic syndrome driven by nerve compression or entrapment

  • On-going student of Tom Myers /Anatomy Trains Structural Integration

  • Innovation:  unique treatment approach with MFR

 

Yoga

  • Developed a yoga program at Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts  (1987-1998)

  • Decades of teacher training workshops and intensives in Iyenger, Anusara, and various other styles & schools, including the following teachers:  Donna Farhi, Donald Moyer, Lillias Folan, John Friend, Elise Browning-Miller, Melissa Spamer, Francois Raoult, Gabriel Halpern, Richard Miller, Mary Reilly, Judith Hanson Lasater, Gary Kraftsow, Mary Dunn, George Fuerstein

  • Owned & operated The Yoga Place:  a studio with 8 teachers and avariety of yoga styles (1998 – 2006)

  • Taught a 1-credit hour yoga course at Kalamazoo Valley Community College for 17 years

  • President of the Michigan Yoga Association (1990’s)

  • Innovation: TRX Yoga

 

Other skills and experience:

 

  • Event production:   Talent Booking, promotion, stage management, marketing, sponsorship, grant writing, etc.

  • 20 years as a performing and recording musician (guitar, upright and electric bass)

  • Organized the Kalamazoo Water Festival in 2009 - an outdoor event with bands, booths, multiple site events, vendors, sponsors, etc.   with approximately 2000 attendees. 

  • Basic bookkeeping, computer usage

 

Executive Board member of  nonprofit organizations:

  • People’s Food Coop of Kalamazoo (1980’s)

  • Michigan Yoga Association (President, treasurer, 1990’s)

organized 3 yoga intensives annually, featuring many of the top 100 teachers in the USA

  • Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association (President, VP, treasurer, 2000’s)

organized and produced an annual 3-day music festival featuring prominent national artists and bands, with approximately 2000 attendees

  • Glenn Shores Community, Inc. (HOA)  current treasurer

 

  • Other interests include nutrition, oriental medicine, herbology, psychology, botany, geology, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and gardening.  

  • Currently working toward Spanish fluency.   Currently can read Spanish and communicate like a 6 year old, and making steady progress. 

  • Have experience with bookkeeping, event production, teaching, basic carpentry and construction skills, basic computer skills
